A DISPERSAL order has been put in place in the Guiseley area of Leeds after multiple reports of anti-social behaviour (ASB).
Over the last few days reports have been received of anti-social behaviour involving youths in and around Guiseley.
This included incidents of intimidating behaviour from large groups of youths.
No injuries were reported in any of the above incidents.
A dispersal order has now been put in place from 3pm today (January 17) covering this area. This will initially remain in place until 3pm on Friday, January 19.
The area covered is bordered by Thorpe Lane to Hawksworth Lane; Hawksworth Lane to Hollins Hill, including Greenfield Avenue; Hollins Hill to New Road, across to Queensway; Queensway to Carlton Lane; Carlton Lane to York Gate; York Gate to Moor Top; and Moor Top to Thorpe Lane.
Under this power, which falls under Section 34 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act, officers have the right to disperse and remove any person suspected of contributing or likely to contribute to ASB and instruct the surrender of any relevant property. Anyone under the age of 16 can be removed to their place of residence or place of safety.
This power will be used to reduce the likelihood of the public in the locality being harassed, alarmed or distressed, and to prevent further crime and disorder.
Anyone with information on those involved in these incidents is asked to contact the Leeds North West Neighbourhood Policing Team on 101, quoting log 1141 of 17/1, or go online at www.westyorkshire.police.uk/101livechat
