Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer enjoyed a night of food and drink in Horsforth over the weekend.
The politician stopped by family-run Mediterranean restaurant La Bistro after hearing about its popular seabass dish.
The menu features dishes from around the world - including Greece, Italy, Spain, many North African countries, such as Algeria, Libya and Morocco, and Middle Eastern countries like Lebanon, Syria and Turkey.
The restaurant's owner shared his pride at receiving a visit from the top politician.
"A visit from Mr Starmer, his family and friends to our little bistro," the owner said.
"He has heard about our lovely seabass and wanted to experience it himself.
"No politics were involved."
There were reports he also enjoyed a drink at The Queens Arms, an 18th Century pub on Long Row, Horsforth.
It came ahead of the politician's visit to a hospital in West Yorkshire.
Sir Keir is no stranger to Yorkshire, having studied law at the University of Leeds before taking up postgraduate studies at Oxford.
“Going to Leeds to study was a turning point for me," the politician previously said.
“I vividly remember the excitement of moving to Leeds to study law."
