ANDREW Knight will again contest Craven ward for Labour at the Bradford Council elections.

He has been chosen to stand at next May's poll.

Mr Knight, 37, contested the ward – which includes Silsden, Steeton-with-Eastburn and Addingham – at this year's elections.

"I'm proud to be selected again," he says.

"Since the 2023 election, I've remained active.

"The biggest highlight for me was supporting Steeton Health Centre Action Group, holding Modality to account in trying to achieve better health provision for the community. I supported the creation of its survey, analysed the results and presented at the public engagement event – with councillors, the MP and many residents in attendance.

"I hope to continue supporting community groups in Steeton-with-Eastburn, Addingham and Silsden."

Mr Knight, who lives with his wife and three children in Haworth, is a data and analytics expert.

He's previously worked for Skipton Building Society.

Also, he has carried out voluntary work as a trustee for a mental health charity and has served as a special constable with West Yorkshire Police.

Bradford Council is currently Labour-controlled.

It comprises 56 Labour councillors, 16 Conservative, eight Green, five Liberal Democrats, two Bradford South Independent, two Independents and one Ilkley Independent.
