An ‘Outstanding’ village school close to Ilkley and Otley is holding an open day on Wednesday, November 22 from 11am to noon and 1.30pm to 3pm.
Parents and carers are invited to bring their child for a play at Askwith Primary School on the day or to contact the school to arrange a visit to suit you.
A school spokesperson said: "At Askwith Primary School, we provide many opportunities for children to access high quality learning beyond the classroom. Learning outdoors plays a vital role in developing happy, healthy and well-rounded children - we pride ourselves on giving our pupils these experiences throughout the school year. We have a field and two playgrounds within beautiful surroundings that the children use regularly to extend their learning. The children begin their outdoor learning journey by engaging in messy play, planting and large-scale building to develop their gross motor and communication skills. As they move through the school, they develop their scientific and geographical knowledge by studying the seasons, habitats, light, maps and the local area using the grounds at school. Our children are inspired by our natural spaces and we love taking our learning outdoors!"
The open day is for children due to start school life in September 2024.
