GUISELEY School is one of only 12 schools in the country to be awarded the Secondary Geography Quality Mark from the Geographical Association.
The Secondary Geography Quality Mark is a prestigious award that recognises quality geography leadership, curriculum development and teaching and learning in Guiseley School.
A school spokesperson said: "The award reflects the depth and breadth of the curriculum we have developed here, and the opportunities we offer to our geography students. It also validates the work we have been doing to ensure that the quality of our teaching in geography is consistently strong and it provides a springboard into further excellence both inside and outside of the classroom.”
Mr Paul Clayton, Headteacher, added: "The nationally recognised quality mark in geography is a fantastic achievement for the department and the school. It not only recognises the quality of the curriculum, teaching and variety of experiences our students encounter, but it is also a recognition of how our students have engaged with the subject. It is a wonderful achievement and I am excited to see the next phase of development for geography at Guiseley School.”
