A LONG-STANDING high street shop is to shut its doors at the end of this month.
Children's footwear specialists Shoe Bee Doo, on South Hawksworth Street in Ilkley, announced the news on Facebook.
Bosses said it was "not an easy decision" to close after being part of the town's community for many years.
They cited the current "economic outlook" as the main reason with many businesses struggling since Covid.
The statement read: "It’s with heavy heart that I have to announce the Shoe Bee Doo will be closing its doors at the end of September.
"This is not an easy decision and there are lots of factors at play running a retail business these days which is getting increasingly difficult and harder to maintain a good margin.
"Since lockdown, the high street seems to have suffered a lot and small businesses like mine are finding it hard to thrive, so whilst we don’t want to close it’s the right time given the economic outlook.
"A clearance sale will start on Monday with ALL SALE products at half price*
"Please continue to support hard-working indies, be they shops, cafes etc.
"Thank you to all the lovely families that visit us and we hope to see you before the end of the month."
