Newcomer Jackie Green had beginner's luck at Ben Rhydding Croquet Club's annual championships when she was part of the winning doubles.
Jackie, of Ilkley, only took up croquet this year after going on the training course run by the club for members of Ilkley and District U3A.
Partnered by club treasurer John Green, no relation, she won the Cynthia Barraclough Cup for the Doubles Competition competing for the first time. They beat Sally Varley and David Henderson in a tight finish.
The Singles Competition was won by club captain Penny Clark, of Askwith, who beat Blake Hemingway to take the Richard Lorimer Shield.
While in the Handicap Competition Eileen Magee beat Marion Cofield, winning the Trevor Grange Shield. Marion, of Addingham, was in all three semi-finals.
Trophies for this 11th tournament were presented by club chair Alan Ebbutt at a Pimms and Nibbles reception to round off the finals.
Organiser Ken Clark said: " Whilst it is competitive play in the championships it is done in a friendly and supportive way, so I would like to encourage more members to take part next year."
