WORSHIP at Blubberhouses Church on Sunday was a musical affair, held outside in the sunshine.
Stephanie Atkinson on her saxophone commenced the worship and was joined by congregation members playing the flute and keyboard. Summer worship outside is becoming a tradition. The congregation heard how David the shepherd boy played his harp to sooth the distress of King Saul and they were encouraged to write a short song in ten minutes. Discovering that they are more creative than they were aware this was achieved.
The Nidd Art trail, show casing local photographers, painters and potters fill the church for the whole of the Bank Holiday weekend.
A spokesperson said: "Creativity is a gift for all of us as we are made in the image of a creator God. The church is open on August Bank Holiday from 11am - 4pm with a full range of refreshments and art work. The next worship service will be held at the usual time of 11am on Sunday, September 17th . A harvest service with supper and auction will be held on Friday 29th September at 7 pm.
"Everyone is welcome to come and join in and find a friendly community and good refreshments."
