THE Play in the Park sessions held weekly during the summer break at the Riverside Gardens, Ilkley are proving to be a great success with children and families.
This free entry event has been funded for the second year running by Ilkley Town Council and organised by Bradford Council. Town Councillor Pauline Alllon visited the event this week and said: “The first thing I noticed was the amazing atmosphere in the park, a real buzz among families who were clearly enjoying all the activities provided. Everyone I spoke to said they were having a fantastic time. The bouncy castles were very popular, along with the swing ball, football, space hoppers and the giant 4 x 4 game. Parents said they really appreciated the fact that the event was free, something of a rarity these days, and many parents and carers had brought a picnic and were able to relax while their families played. The children were equally enthusiastic with some saying that they were having a great time and had made new friends”.
Due to one of the days having been cancelled due to rain, there will now be an extra Play in the Park session on Monday August 28 as well as on Wednesday, August 30 from 11am – 3pm.
