THE Addingham Annual Show, organised by the Addingham Allotments & Gardens Association, was held for the first time in four years at the village’s Memorial Hall on Saturday, August 12.
Entries ranged from flowers, fruit and vegetables to handicrafts, home crafts and photography. There were 60 classes in total, including a junior section which generated well over a hundred entries from the children at the village primary school.
Show secretary Peter Cooke said: "We were delighted to be able to put on the show again after a four year absence. The event was the centrepiece of our Association’s 50th anniversary celebrations and it was wonderful to see so many exhibits looking so good on the tables as it was to see so many people in the hall during the afternoon. My thanks to the judges, exhibitors, behind the scenes volunteers and visitors for making the day such a success."
The Association was pleased to welcome special guest Phil Gomersall BEM, President of the National Allotments Society, who addressed the audience and presented the prizes.
