Letter to the editor (Image: Though for the week)
Eureka! No one will believe me, but I saw a real-life police officer in Ilkley the other day. Only a PCSO (Police Community Support Officer), but better than nothing, I suppose.
He stood outside Tesco while imbibing a cooling drink. So, they haven't forgotten about us, after all. Perhaps I shall see another officer in the town next year, but I won't hold my breath.
