AN ILKLEY driver has been banned from the roads after admitting driving while over the alcohol limit.
Johnathan Turner, 40, of The Heathers, pleaded guilty to driving an Audi A3 on May 25 in High Royds Drive, Menston, with 52 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.
Magistrates sitting in Leeds yesterday, August 2, ordered Turner be disqualified from driving for 12 months. He was fined £120 and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £40.
The outstanding amount is to be paid in full by August 28.
Turner was offered the chance to take part in a drink-drive rehabilitation course which, if completed successfully within a specified time, would reduce his sentence by 13 weeks.
