TWO open days were held to mark the official opening of Horsforth Manor Care Home.
Members of the community and prospective residents were invited to view the facilities at the 55-bedroom home on Manor Way, Horsforth.
Owners of Yorkare Homes were delighted by the number of people who took up the invitation on July 15 and 16.
Yorkare’s Nicola Anderson said: “It was an overwhelming response, with lots of people coming to see what Horsforth Manor Care Home has to offer, whether as potential residents or simply because they were interested to see what it was like after watching the building work.
“There was a lovely community feel to the whole event and people were genuinely keen to know all about the home. I am sure that the home will be a fabulous asset to Horsforth and the surrounding areas. It’s been amazing to see the progress that has been made in creating fabulous communal areas as well as see the beautifully appointed rooms for residents.”
Horsforth Manor provides residential and specialist dementia care for both long and short stays.
It has landscaped gardens, a bowling green and communal facilities include a lounge and dining areas, an in-house bar, beauty salon and hairdressing room, and a cinema.
Emma Littlewood the registered manager for Horsforth Manor said: “Having been a registered manager for other care settings for the last 15 years, I joined Yorkare in February this year and I am not only excited but proud to be a part of the Yorkare family business. I am so pleased that we have now opened our doors to Horsforth Manor Care Home. The feedback that we have received from our open days was nothing but positive and I am now excited to welcome new residents into the home for myself and dedicated staff team to care for and nurture with the highest compassion and level of person-centred care.”
