MEMBERS of Addingham Village Social Club have set up a five-a-side football club.

They play once a month and all put money in a pot to give to charity.

Over the last couple of months they have donated £105 to the NSPCC and Addingham Primary School.

Last month they raised £105 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) which the social club matched so a total of £210 was donated.

The matches are take place on the last Sunday of the month at 10am in the Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) at Addingham Park.

Players range in age from 39 to 70 and are of all abilities .

Social club manager Sara Mortimer said: "Darren Secker, one of our members, set it up. It has gone from strength to strength, bringing together members of the club that wouldn't have necessarily mixed. Daz said he wants to keep the community spirit going.

"This month the boys will play for the Yorkshire Rose Dog Rescue."
