ADDINGHAM Civic Society’s Environment Group will be holding its sixth environmentally themed weekend on June 10 and 11 at Addingham Primary School playing field and in the youth centre next door.
On Saturday between 2pm and 5.30pm go along and see the village's range of environmentally themed projects. Projects are about looking after wildlife, caring for water, and reducing carbon and waste.
A theme this year is gardening for wildlife and there will be tips from Addingham Allotments and Garden, wildflower seeds, along with advice from Heritage Wildflowers, or look at the world of pollen through a microscope.
Meet Prickly Pigs Hedgehog Rescue, JBA Consulting and see if you can create an electronic flood. Silsden Refill Shop will be there along with Wharfedale Naturalists, Yorkshire Dales Rivers Trust Mobile Classroom, Friends of Wharfedale Greenway, and Ilkley Clean River Group.
There is lots for children to do and refreshments.
If you fancy a foray into the wildlife of Addingham join a Bat Walk at 9.30pm on Saturday or on Sunday, June 11 there will be Guided Village Nature Walks at 10.30am and 2.30pm. Just sign up on Saturday afternoon in the wildlife marquee.
