Otley Baroque is delighted to welcome back the celebrated Ensemble Flauguissimo (Yu-Wei Hu, baroque flute and Johan Löfving, the obo) who appeared in their very first charity concert in 2018.

After busy and successful years of performing in several renowned music festivals around the UK including Brighton Early Music Festival, Flauguissimo just launched their new album ‘To the Northern Star’ joined by a phenomenal American soprano Emily Atkinson.

The album features chamber works and cantatas for flute and soprano by Johan Helmich Roman, who is known as ‘the father of Swedish classical music’ or ‘Swedish Handel’.

In this concert, you will hear the best bits from the album as well as other chamber works by Roman for violin by Otley Baroque’s Asuka Sumi as a guest.

Asuka says: “We are excited to be back to our favourite venue, All Saints Parish Church in Otley. You will enjoy a fantastic acoustic in this historic chapel. It will be a perfect way to spend the Sunday afternoon.”

This concert is partly funded by The Continuo Foundation.

The concert takes place on Sunday, June 18 at 3pm in All Saint’s Parish Church in Otley.

Tickets: general admission £12/concession £10/students £5/pair (online only) £20. Tickets are available at the door and via www.ticketsource.co.uk/otleybaroque/
