TO celebrate Mothers' Day, the Grove Bookshop in Ilkley has filled its window with amazing mums.
The portraits are the work of local children from All Saints Primary and the 1st Burley Brownies. Local Leeds author and illustrator Alison Brown put the colourful display together. The window is inspired by her new picture book, Amazing Mums, which is about all the wonderful things mums and carers do. Alison also ran a free creative workshop for budding artists at the Clarke Foley Centre. The display has already attracted lots of compliments from passersby, and the shop has had of visits from the young artists and their mums.
Bookshop manager Mike Sansbury said: “It's so lovely to give display space to these beautiful pictures so that mums and children can see themselves on show.”
The shop has a table of gift ideas for Mothers' Day, including copies of Alison Brown's book and cards by local artist Nicky Clarke. Amazing Mums is published by Farshore (£7.99).
