Celebrations, attended by over 30 members, were held at Kirklands to mark the 50th anniversary of Menston Retired Men’s Forum. Chairman Mike Hughes (centre) is holding a commemorative oak plaque, with Julian Roberts (left) the oldest member and Billy Hill (right) the longest serving member. The plaque will be on permanent display in the Community Centre meeting room. The occasion included coffee and celebratory cake, together with champagne, and a look back at the old registers and minute books, with nostalgic memories of past members. A spokesperson said: "We also reminisced about coach trips that were made to places of interest over the past few years, which raised plenty of laughs. A quiz about the inaugural year 1973, followed by a singalong made for a very enjoyable morning."
