A NEW exhibition looking at the work of The Friends Of Ilkley Moor will start later this month.
The exhibition featuring The Friends of Ilkley Moor, a registered charity set up in 2008, will run from February 25 to to April 30 at the Manor House museum and gallery in Ilkley.
Its activities extend from providing volunteer work parties to help maintain and restore footpaths on the moor to providing guided walks and educational experience days for younger people.
Its objectives include working with Bradford MDC to promote the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment of the moor, and to promote the use of the moor as an open space amenity for education, recreation and leisure time in the interests of social welfare.
It also generates grant funding to supplement Bradford MDC’s Countryside Service activities as well as applying donations and membership fees contributed by its members.
Since its inception in 2008, it has delivered over £350,000 in terms of volunteer labour time and raised over £288,000 in grants and £83,000 in membership fees and donations.
