YORKSHIRE'S top fashion fundraising event, Fashion Fiesta, is returning to the catwalk this November.
This event will be hosted in Ilkley at the Clarke Foley Centre, on Thursday, November 24 (6pm to 9pm) and aims to unite the community once again, after a disconnect caused by the pandemic.
Fashion Fiesta is a charity-based show, run by volunteers. The show was founded in 2015, by Rachel Hatfield, Director at Ben-Rhydding based SHOO. Fashion Fiesta’s first show took place in Bradford, acting as a fundraiser for Action in the Community.
The reach of the project has since grown. Each year Fashion Fiesta welcomes more creatives, more visitors and raises even more money for charity. The show provides a fantastic, collaborative platform for aspiring and established designers, models, and makeup artists. This year the team of volunteers are focusing their efforts on raising money for Ilkley’s Clarke Foley Community Centre.
After a three-year hiatus, the team are excited to bring the show ‘back home’. Albeit will be on a smaller scale, before returning to Leeds in 2023. This year the team wanted to celebrate talent in the hometown of Fashion Fiesta, Ilkley. The very place Rachel Hatfield founded Fashion Fiesta. It is an amazing opportunity to bring together the community across Ilkley and the surrounding neighbourhood.
Rachel Hatfield, Founder of Fashion Fiesta said: “The 2022 event will be the seventh in a long line of successful shows. It will be held on Thursday 24th November at a brand-new venue, specially selected for the inaugural ‘The Fiesta Collective’.
"The theme for this year’s show is all about bringing together the community. For this reason, budding fashion designers of Fashion Fiesta’s past and present shows will once again return to the runway to show off their collections. We are excited to welcome everyone again after a long wait!”
