MOTORISTS are being advised to find alternative routes during the closure of Bolton Road, between Addingham and Bolton Bridge, for three weeks.
The road, at the Bolton Abbey junction off the A59 and Addingham, closed on Monday and is expected to reopen by October 9. North Yorkshire County Council says the reconstruction work will involve 'haunching' - the strengthening of the road and verge.
The Bolton Abbey Estate has tweeted: "For anyone planning to visit us over the coming weeks, please be aware that North Yorkshire Highways have a road closure in place between Addingham and Bolton Bridge. The reconstruction works are expected to last for three weeks."
Work is due to take place from 7.30am to 5pm every day, with emergency access maintained at all times.
