AN INSIDER'S view of Parliament will be on the agenda in a talk at Rawdon Community Library this afternoon.
Richard O’Callaghan will talk about Working at Westminster at 2pm on Tuesday, May 3.
A library spokesperson said: "Richard was born in Leeds and raised in Horsforth. He now lives in Rawdon with his family, and works for the Woodland Trust. Between 2007 and 2011, Richard worked in the Houses of Parliament, under three Prime Ministers (Blair, Brown and Cameron).
Richard will provide a personal perspective on Parliament, how it works (and how it doesn't), and give an insight into the culture and atmosphere of the 'Corridors of Power' which the public don't get to see. From the buzz of Budget Day, the State Opening of Parliament and No. 10 drinks receptions, to his encounters with senior politicians and officials, including Ken Clarke and Dominic Cummings, Richard hopes to inform and enthuse anybody who has an interest in history and politics.
Tickets are £5 (£3 students) and include refreshments.
