THE YORKSHIRE Party is calling on Boris Johnson to resign after it was revealed he was being fined over Partygate.
The Prime Minister, his wife Carrie Johnson and Chancellor Rishi Sunak have all received notifications from the Metropolitan Police that they would be given fixed penalty notices for breaking lockdown rules.
Yorkshire Party Leader Bob Buxton said:"This is the Prime Minister's last chance to resign with even a shred of dignity. He has misled Parliament and the people of Britain with ludicrous excuses. But the Met has shown that he is not above the law - not above accountability."
"The lying was arguably worse than the original offences - both are resigning issues. Misleading Parliament is a breach of the Ministerial Code, meaning that he is expected to resign."
"The Chancellor too has only himself to blame and must resign. The people of the United Kingdom deserve better people at the heart of Government. At the very least, we deserve people who obey the law - especially laws they wrote."
