ILKLEY is to hold its first Pride Event at The King's Hall and Winter Gardens on Saturday 2nd July.

All members of the LGBTQ+ community and supporters, families and advocates will be welcome.

The day will be in two halves, 2pm-6pm will see an afternoon of entertainment, information stalls and activities with a family focus. The evening session from 7pm-10pm will be for over 16s only and will have a more adult feel.

A spokesperson said: "We are looking for singers, bands, comedians, poets, compères to perform throughout the day for time slots of between 15 and 30 minutes.

"If you’re interested in being part of this inaugural event please contact the production/stage manager Isabel Ashman at isabelashman52@gmail.com with a brief description of your act / performance and links or attachments for the IP@D (Ilkley Pride and Diversity) entertainment committee to consider.

"We are working on a very limited budget for this inaugural event so it is unlikely we will be able to pay many fees for entertainment this year. We hope to encourage new and exciting LGBTQ+ and advocate acts to perform for free with the opportunity of playing on a big stage for a large and appreciative audience."
