AN ILKLEY woman has appeared in court to plead guilty to a charge of assault by beating.

Jodie Ayres, 27, of Tivoli Place, Ilkley, was made subject of a community order when she appeared before Bradford and Keighley Magistrates Court on Friday, January 28.

The charge related to an incident on June 19, 2021 when she assaulted a person by beating at Shipley Station, Station Road, Shipley, contrary to section 39 of the Criminal Justice Act 1988.

As part of the Rehabilitation Activity Requirement she must comply with any instructions of the responsible officer to attend appointments (with the responsible officer or someone else nominated by them), or to participate in any activity as required by the responsible officer up to a maximum of 20 days.

She was also ordered to pay compensation of £50, pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £95 and pay costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
