AN Otley woman has appeared in court to plead guilty to a charge of drink driving.
Samantha Mosley, 49, of Chevin Country Park Hotel and Spa, York Gate, Otley, appeared at Leeds Magistrates Court on Thursday, February 3 to face a charge of driving a motor vehicle when her blood alcohol level was above the legal limit.
The charge related to an incident on August 29, 2021, when she was driving a vehicle on East Chevin Road after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in her blood, namely 178 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood, exceeded the prescribed limit.
The legal limit is 80 milligrams per 100 millilitres of blood.
She was fined £499, ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £50 and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
She was also disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 20 months. The disqualification will be reduced by 20 weeks if by March 15, 2023 the defendant satisfactorily completes a course approved by the Secretary of State.
The defendant's guilty plea was taken into account when imposing sentence.
