ILKLEY is set to welcome well known actor Andy Harrison again as he comes to perform a new and inspiring play Fire from Heaven.
Andy has performed a number of times here, latterly just before lockdown in the one man show 'Mr. Darwin's Tree'. He began his career in repertory theatre playing the lead roles in A Chorus of Disapproval and Serious Money at the Northcott Theatre, Exeter.
His West End (London) debut came with a role in Sir Michael Hordern's Trelawny of the 'Wells'. Andrew has numerous TV credits including The Bill, Miss Marple, and Birds of a Feather, and the films A Sea Change and An Ideal Husband. He contributes regularly to BBC radio. In television, Andrew is perhaps best known for his roles in Beyond Narnia and Florence Nightingale.
Fire from Heaven is about the extraordinary life of Michael Faraday FRS. He was an English scientist who contributed to the study of electromagnetism and electrochemistry. His main discoveries include the principles underlying electromagnetic induction, diamagnetism and electrolysis. That these discoveries will help the world to a cleaner planet, makes the play all the more pertinent for our time.
The play will be performed on two nights, November 26th and 27th at All Saints' Church Ilkley at 7.30pm
Tickets are available from the church office on 01943 816035 or online at https://bit.ly/FIRE-26 ( November 26th ) or https://bit.ly/FIRE-27 ( November 27th ) at price of £10 per ticket.
