A MAN has been jailed for 12 weeks after pleading guilty to stealing 25 bottles of alcohol worth £868 from Booths in Ilkley.
Wayne George Orwin, 52, of Abercorn Road, Doncaster, appeared before Bradford Magistrates on Wednesday, September 22, to be sentenced for the theft of the alcohol on April 24, 2021.
He was committed to prison for 12 weeks as the offence was aggravated by the defendant's record of previous offending.
He was also ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £128.
A further charge of stealing 82 bottles of alcohol valued at £2,037.75 belonging to Booths Superstore, Leeds Road, Ilkley, on April 6, 2021, was dismissed as no evidence was offered.
