APPRENTICE Liam Jolly has gained the accolade of ‘Learner of the Year’ after successfully completing his apprenticeship within Mechanical Design at Spooners Industries in Ilkley.

Liam was presented with a certificate and award by Oliver Gregory, Group Head of HR at Spooners Industries Ilkley.

Oliver said: “We are very proud of how hard Liam has worked over the last three years throughout his apprenticeship. The feedback received from his Appris college tutors described Liam as completing his work to ‘perfection’, ahead of time and to a high standard. Liam is being appointed to the role of Design Engineer and will continue to have a fantastic career here at Spooners.”

Liam said: “Working for Spooners has given me so many great opportunities and I’m looking forward to the future and to my new job as Design Engineer.”

He added: “To all those thinking whether an apprenticeship route is the right career choice ‘go for it’.”
