IF you remember the music of the swinging 60s with affection, then the latest u3a competition should appeal to you.

Four tickets to ‘Go Now! The Music of the Moody Blues’ concert are up for grabs if you can identify the 60s musicians in the montage on the Ilkley & District u3a’s website.

The concert takes place in the King’s Hall, Ilkley, on Friday, November 12, 2021, and stars an excellent Moody Blues tribute band.

The band features world class musicians such as Gordy Marshall, who toured and recorded with the Moody Blues for 25 years, and Mick Wilson, who was a singer with 10CC for 20 years.

All the well-known classic Moody Blues hits such as ‘Nights in White Satin’, ‘Tuesday Afternoon’ and ‘Go Now’ are included in its repertoire. The concert should appeal to all those who enjoy rocking to the sound of 60s music.

Bradford Theatres have teamed up with the u3a to present this opportunity to win four tickets for seats in a box at the show.

It is easy to enter the draw. Just go to the u3a website at ilkleyu3a.org and name the 1960s musicians on the photo montage.

Checking the answer will reveal instructions for entering your name into the prize draw to win the tickets.

The closing date for entries is Friday, October 22, 2021 and the winner will be notified by October 31.

Entry to the prize draw is available on the u3a website during September and up to the closing date in October.

The website gives details of the many activities that Ilkley & District u3a offers to members.

There are more than 140 different groups, including sports, music, languages, creative writing, science and technology, arts and crafts, local history, dancing, and walking.

Membership is only £13.50 a year and is open to all those in the area who are retired or semi-retired.
