OTLEY and Yeadon councillor Colin Campbell has welcomed the success of the new Nidderdale Rambler bus service.
"The service which runs from Otley to Pateley Bridge and on to Scar House reservoir at the top of Nidderdale has proved a great success over the Bank Holiday weekend, with the bus on the morning run from Otley being full," Cllr Campbell said.
"It is great that people are using the Rambler to have a day out in the country after lockdown," he added.
"The afternoon service which follows the same route was not as busy when I used it on Sunday but for those who do not have a whole day to spare it is ideal for a short trip north of Otley and a walk home through some of the best countryside in Yorkshire".
The service which is funded from a wide range of sources, including a grant from the local Councillors, is part of a wider Dales Bus network designed to encourage people to visit the area. The Nidderdale Rambler (821) runs every Sunday and Bank holiday from Otley to Pateley Bridge and on to Scar House reservoir at the top of Nidderdale.
