THE GROVE Bookshop in Ilkley has donated two copies of every book from the adults and children's Jhalak Prize shortlists to the Burley in Wharfedale library.
The Jhalak Prize was founded in 2017 to celebrate books by British/British resident BAME writers. The Jhalak Children’s and YA Prize followed in 2020.
Burley library is a community managed library, working with volunteers, led by Abi Skerrey. Volunteer Sylvia Tilford, founder of the Burley Summer Festival, is pictured with Nikki Ford from the Grove. For more information on Burley Library, visit https://www.burleylibrary.org.
