THE wonderful displays of daffodils in Rawdon, previously planted by the In-Bloomers, have been magnificent but are more or less over now.
So Rawdon-in-Bloom volunteers have been out creating another rockery to beautify the village of Rawdon. This rockery is at the junction of Layton Road/Layton Avenue at the entrance to the village from Horsforth and incorporates a Rawdon sign post, hand made by one of the group. It is planned to replicate the planting scheme used at the previously created rockery in the village opposite the Emmott Arms. The team has had additional assistance from Meryl Frazer, who is working with the group as part of her Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. She has already been helping the group by potting up plants for the group’s summer planting scheme.
