THE RECTOR of Bolton Priory has been reflecting on how scripture relates to the coronavirus pandemic.
Reverend Nicholas Mercer sees a clear link between the parable of the shrewd manager and the situation the world is currently facing. He said: “We have rightly concentrated on the health impact of the coronavirus but there is a huge economic impact as well and the worst is still to come. Perhaps this is the time, like the shrewd manager, to show legal restraint and generosity to our debtors in their hour of need.”
The Tower of the Priory Church is open daily for private prayer while the church’s 8am Sunday services are currently online-only. The church has recently started holding 10.30am physical morning services - with limited numbers - on Sundays, too, though these will not take place during most of August and are set to resume on Sunday, September 6.
