A TOTAL of 98 patients who tested positive for coronavirus have died at Airedale Hospital after a further fatality was reported today.
The news takes the total death toll so far in the Bradford district to 285 - 185 at Bradford Royal Infirmary, 98 at Airedale and two at Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust.
Yesterday Airedale announced it had discharged 190 patients who had recovered from the virus.
A statement from NHS England said: "A further 166 people, who tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 25,079.
"Patients were aged between 33 and 99 years old. Five of the 166 patients (aged between 54 and 70) had no known underlying health condition.
"Their families have been informed."
Across the UK a total of 235 further deaths were confirmed today. The figures do not include deaths from outside hospitals.
