THE annual Macmillan Cancer Support Fashion Show took place at The Craiglands Hotel.
Entitled ‘All Things Bright and Beautiful’ to echo the feel good colours of spring/summer 2019, the show featured seven local fashion retailers in ten show stopping scenes. Compere John Thirlwell noted men were much in evidence in this year’s new look show.
Another new feature that highlighted how many models come to strut their stuff for Macmillan every year, the programme listed the wide variety of their day jobs. Only two professional models take part out of 35 models. Their commitment to Macmillan and the Ilkley show means that each year well over £10,000 is raised for the charity.
Chairman Chris Martinez said Macmillan have acknowledged the Ilkley Committee and Fashion Show are recognised as one of the most successful fundraisers in Yorkshire, transferring £23,000 to the charity in 2018. Although this year’s show was the 13th, it was certainly a bright, happy and successful evening and she thanked all those who make it so and the over 200 guests, many of whom come every year, for continuing their support for Macmillan.
