AIREBOROUGH Historical Society will look forward to the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War at a Heritage Day event in September.
Fallen heroes of Aireborough will feature a photographic display of peace celebrations following the end of the war in 1918, along with information, artefacts and photographs of war memorials, acknowledging the sacrifice made by local people.
The display will be opened at 10am, on Saturday, September 8 by the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Leeds Councillors Graham and Pat Latty. It will be held in the Wharfedale Room of Yeadon Town Hall.
Archivist Carlo Harrison said: "On the day we will be happy to accept any Aireborough related items you may wish to donate to our archive.
"Equally we will be happy to scan/photograph any Aireborough items for the archive, should you wish to retain the originals."
The group's 2019 limited edition calendars will be on sale for the first time at the event.
