HUNDREDS of Burley-in-Wharfedale residents turned out on Saturday for an event at the library to mark the take over of the management of the service by Burley Parish Council.
Around 500 people visited the library between 10am and 1pm to see a magician, hear a story teller, enjoy face painting, listen to the Burley Ukulele Jammers and borrow lots of library books!
Cllr Janet Souyave, Abi Skerrey and Jackie Stoddart welcoming everyone. Cllr Souyave, who is chairman of the Library Committee said: "Everyone enjoyed a visit to Burley Library on Saturday and I would like to thank the enthusiastic volunteers who will help keep Burley Library open.”
