YOUNG footballers in Otley have been enjoying firing shots into some brand new goals.

Otley Lions purchased the new equipment for Weston Lane Juniors FC to help the club get more teams playing each week.

Lions President Gareth Dibble and mascot Chip the Lion visited the club at Weston Lane Sports and Social Club, on the Weston Estate, last week to watch the players in action.

Mr Dibble said: "Otley Lions Club are proud to have been able to support Weston Lane by purchasing new sets of goals.

"This is a fantastic community project that offers so much to children who love football.

"Congratulations have to go out to Chairman Carl Laurenson and his team for making this what can only be described as an asset to the young people of our town."
