On Tuesday afternoon, February 3, I was unlucky enough to get the wheelchair lift on my car jammed on the pavement in front of Ilkley Library, and was wondering how I was going to be able to get back home, when my luck changed and two ladies stopped to help. They tried various ways to get it moving, and we were joined by a third lady offering assistance.
To cut a long story short, the offending lift was persuaded to operate when one of the ladies moved the car partly on to the pavement. I was not, however, quick enough to get any of their names to be able to thank them properly for rescuing me before they disappeared, and I would be grateful if you would kindly publish this letter in the hope that they read it and learn of my gratitude.
They were truly real-life Ilkley angels!
