A GP surgery in Ilkley has been voted top practice in West Yorkshire in a survey of patient experience.
Ilkley Moor Medical Practice, based at the Springs Medical Centre, Springs Lane, Ilkley, gained an overall score of 99 per cent in the West Yorkshire-wide survey.
Patients from about 300 practices in the county took part in the survey.
The six-monthly National Patient Survey is conducted independently by NHS England. Patients across the UK were contacted randomly during 2012-2013 to assess their experience of the access and quality of care they receive from their local GPs, dentists and out-of-hours GP services.
From these views the NHS England West Yorkshire Area Team has analysed the answers relevant to GP practices in the area. These included questions on the ease of appointment booking and satisfaction with surgery hours.
GP partner Dr Mark French said: “We are delighted with this survey – for a large practice like us to come top in the satisfaction stakes is a real accolade and I think reflects the understanding our patients have for our efforts to combine a family and patient-friendly service with a modern approach to primary care.
“We are constantly trying to improve and try to take on board any constructive ideas and criticism from our patients.”
