A charity ball is being held to raise money for Airedale Hospital’s maternity unit and local businesses and organisations are being encouraged to book tables for any of their corporate functions.
The aim is to help raise a target of £6,000 for new resources for the new midwifery-led unit’s family room and bereavement room.
It is being held on Saturday, November 30, at The Craiglands Hotel, in Ilkley.
Tickets cost £35 each which includes: a sparkling reception, three course meal, live entertainment and disco, a charity auction, VIP and celebrity guests and a grand prize draw.
For tickets contact: e-mail: debra.vercammen@anhst.nhs.uk or ring (01535) 294032.
The new maternity unit at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust was opened last July by Lisa Gallagher, mum-to-be and TV weathergirl and Cathy Warwick, chief executive of the Royal College of Midwives.
It was designed as a less clinical and more relaxing place to give birth and provides four birthing suites, all with private patio areas and en-suite wet room facilities, and a self-contained bereavement suite with a private remembrance garden attached.
