A Horsforth woman whose father died as he gave a speech on her wedding day is helping to save other lives by donating a defibrillator.
Alan Bates, 65, suffered a heart attack and collapsed as he rose to address guests at Craiglands Hotel in Ilkley.
He died just hours after walking his daughter Charlotte down the aisle last October.
Now Charlotte and her husband, Steve Galbraith, are set to install a defibrillator in the training ground of Huddersfield Town FC in memory of Mr Bates, who was a staunch supporter of the team. The couple took part in a sponsored run with wedding guests to raise nearly £1,800 for the equipment.
