A gold award has been served to Ilkley’s Box Tree restaurant at the prestigious Yorkshire in Bloom awards ceremony.
The Church Street restaurant was one of several entrants in the Public Houses and Restaurants section of the regional competition to gain a gold standard award.
The announcement was made in an awards ceremony at York Racecourse on today, Tuesday.
Rena Gueller, who owns the restaurant with husband, Simon, said: “We’re overwhelmed. We won Ilkley in Bloom last year and though we’d try going in for this one. We’re absolutely delighted.”
The restaurant planted flowers in planters and hanging baskets, as well as herbs, which are used in the kitchen.
