A 23-year-old man is fighting for his life after a car crash in Ilkley yesterday evening (Monday).
The accident happened at around 7.15pm on Cowpasture Road on the Ilkley side of the junction with Maxwell Road.
A silver Vauxhall Corsa, driven by the 23-year-old, and a black Volvo V50 travelling the opposite way collided. Fire crews from Otley and Rawdon were called to the scene and freed one of the men from his vehicle.
One of the injured men was taken to hospital by air ambulance. This driver, who police say is local, remains in a serious but stable condition in Leeds General Infirmary.
Any witnesses or anyone with information should contact PC 1045 Cox at the Western Area Roads Policing Unit via 101.
