Whitkirk Wanderers 0 Otley Town 7
With two wins and a draw in the last seven days Otley Town have pulled away from the West Yorkshire League Premier Division relegation zone and now sit comfortably in mid-table with 29 points.
The home win against Wetherby was followed by a terrific away performance at Brighouse Old Boys where a win rather than the draw achieved would have been fully merited.
On Saturday the revitalised Town side expected a dog- fight against second bottom Whitkirk but instead found the home side in a woeful state.
Although Otley played well the home side were in some disarray as the scoreline suggests.
Town started like a house on fire with Scott Cater causing havoc down the right flank.
Twice in the first ten minutes he laid on goals for Sam Jewell and Scott Norton with coruscating runs from the half way line.
As well as hitting the woodwork Norton scored again to give Town a comfortable 3-0 half-time lead.
Another goal blitz straight after the break with goals from the hardworking Josh Waite and an own goal put the game beyond Whitkirk.
Danny Bradley had to make one good save from former Otley Express forward Eder Ruiz but that was to be Whitkirk’s one and only clear cut chance.
Further goals from Joe Firth and Norton sealed an emphatic win for Otley.
Town entertain Beeston St Anthony’s (2.30pm) on Satur- day.
