A singer-songwriter who left the army to pursue his career in music will join soprano Alexandra Lowe at a benefit concert later this month.
Special guest at the concert, at Rudding Park Hotel, near Harrogate, on September 30, will be Antony Raine, from London.
He recently left the Queen’s Royal Lancers to follow his career in music, climbing high in the singer-songwriter charts.
The concert, also featuring baritone Tom Isherwood, violinist Joy Becker and pianist Simon Passmore, will support both the Queen’s Royal Lancers and charity Combat Stress, which specialises in the treatment and support of British Armed Forces veterans who suffer from mental health issues such as post-traumatic stress.
Formed from six old and renowned cavalry regiments, The Queen’s Royal Lancers is a serving armoured reconnaissance regiment based at Catterick. The regiment has most recently served in Iraq and Afghanistan.
There will be a charity raffle at the event, and organisers will gratefully receive donations of prizes for this.
Tickets cost £15, available from Harrogate Tourist Information Centre, Royal Baths, Crescent Road, Harrogate, telephone (01423) 537300.
