Ilkley Philharmonic Orchestra in association with The Academy of Northern Ballet will be presenting a spectacular New Year’s Gala Concert on Saturday, January 4th at 7.30pm in the King’s Hall, Ilkley.
Celebrate the New Year in style with traditional Viennese music from the Strauss family and others.
Nineteen young ballet dancers from the Academy of Northern Ballet will be performing ’Waltz of the Flowers’ from The Nutcracker Ballet - Tchaikovsky and the Blue Danube Waltz - Johann Strauss, plus a few surprises.
Ilkley Philharmonic Orchestra's Conductor, John Anderson, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer these talented young dancers the opportunity to perform with a live orchestra - this will be a very special evening. We are very grateful to the generous financial support from Ilkley Roundtable and we hope this concert will become an annual fixture in the cultural life of the town.”
Soprano, Rowena Thornton, will join the orchestra to perform popular arias by Lehar, Puccini and Heuberger.
