THE Wharfedale Branch of the NSPCC held a spring coffee morning at Kirkland's community centre in Menston on Saturday, March 16.
The event raised £1,100 to support local projects run by the NSPCC and Childline.
Each call to Childline costs approximately £4 to enable lonely, vulnerable, frightened or abused children to call for help. It is run by the NSPCC and funded by donations.
Mrs Eleanor Monks was thanked for her fundraising over the last 20 years at the coffee morning. She has knitted and sold her creations and raised enough to pay for over 5,000 calls to Childline. The NSPCC are grateful to Eleanor and people like her who are dedicated to help these children and put a stop to abuse FULL STOP.
The Childline number is 0800 1111.
Pictured are Mrs Monks being presented with her certificate by secretary of Wharfedale NSPCC, Diane Smith.
