PEOPLE of all ages and backgrounds helped the Queen celebrate her 90th birthday on Thursday.
The nation came together to mark the Queen's birthday in countless different ways and locally there was plenty going on to mark the day.
In Yeadon one of the Royal Family's biggest fans celebrated with a big party at Yeadon Town Hall.
Judith Watkinson, who at one point had over 6,000 items of Royal Family themed memorabilia helped arrange the gathering, with included a birthday cake, singalong and visits by children dressed as royalty.
In Otley the landmark birthday was toasted at a flag-raising ceremony in the town.
Town Mayor Councillor Philip Bye (Lib Dem, Prince Henry's) was joined by other dignitaries including Deputy Lieutenant of West Yorkshire Roger Bowers for the event in Manchester Square, in front of the Civic Centre, on Thursday, April 21.
Bellman and Town Crier Terry Ford officially offered congratulations to Queen Elizabeth II on behalf of the people of Otley as the Union flag was raised.
The 50-strong crowd also gave a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday to mark the occasion.
Bulrey villagers along with Burley Scout and Guide Group celebrated the Queen's 90th birthday on Thursday with a beacon celebration in Grange Park, Burley-in-Wharfedale, arranged by Burley Parish Council.
Prior to the lighting Burley Scouts, Guides, Cubs, Brownies and Beavers gave a presentation of songs and a ceremony of raising the Union Jack.
Around 750 people watched Parish Councillor Rachael Robinson and 90-year-old Betty Fisher light the Beacon which in the modern world was gas powered.
Councillor Stuart Bottomley, chairman of the Burley Community and Environment Committee said: “The Parish Council was delighted to work with the Scouts, Guides, Cubs, Brownies and Beavers plus all the community to celebrate the Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebration. Special thanks to Cllr Rachael Robinson and 90-year-old Burley resident Betty Fisher for supervising the lighting of the Beacon!”
Sue Vint, leader of 1st Burley-in-Wharfedale Guides added: "About 200 Rainbows, Beavers, Brownies, Cubs, Guides, Scouts, Rangers and Explorers and their leaders paraded from our meeting place on Peel Place to the park with all our flags.
"We sang campfire style songs to the many villagers who came to watch. Some of the younger girls and boys learned how to dance round a maypole.
"After half an hour of singing we hoisted the Union Jack flag, sang the National Anthem and Happy Birthday. It was a lovely sunny evening and a very happy event."
